Rules of the Six By Four Challenge
Jul 26th, 2008 at 3:37pm

Welcome to the Six By Four Challenge

There aren't too many rules, and this challenge is open to everyone

1. Paper size of 6 x 4" you may design in portrait or landscape, it is up to you.
2. Monthly theme set. Open themes to suit all abilities, tastes and crafting styles. Any style of crafting is welcome.
3. Sign up under the current month's thread to say you wish to join in.
4. Post your finished project on your own blog/PhotoBucket etc. Leave a link to the picture in that month's thread.
5. Your chance to choose the following months theme. By that I mean I will post a theme to start us off, then choose someone from the list of people signed up that month, to set the next month's theme.
6. This is a virtual challenge. You are posting your pictures online, you get to keep your creation, no postage issues so you can really go to town on the embellishments if you wish.

Pictures

If you don't have a blog or online photo album, but do have a computer and a digital camera and would like help getting an online album, just say there are plenty of us on here who can help you set something up.

Choosing Themes

If you are chosen to pick a theme for the following months challenge I will notify you by PM. If you do not wish to choose a theme for any reason, then there will be no pressure to do so. Either I will ask someone else or choose one for us, depending on available time.

Deadline

Each month's theme will be posted at the start of the month, any pictures you wish to share should be posted to that month's thread by the end of the following month, just to keep us all on the same themes.

BUT I realise that it is not always possible to get pictures online to a date, so the threads will remain open for late entries to add their pictures.

If you have any questions please pm me.

Enjoy

another question, do you have to leave a gap at the
left hand side to punch holes in to keep in a file?

Hi Ann

Sorry for the delay I lost my  connection  Embarrassed

Since this challenge means you are keeping your pages, how you use, store or display them is entirely your choice. I fancied mounting mine in some way to make a book of them in the long term. If I ever buy a bind it all, then I'll use that to join the pages together.  If you want to use the finished pages on a card to give away after the challenge is over then it's your page.

I thought this size would not take up too much room if you wanted to keep them all in a photobox for example??

Hope that helps

Billie, when you say any style of crafting does that include digital?  I love manipulating stamped images into a digital one at the moment.

Hi Megan

ABSOLUTELY, the one thing that our other swaps had been a little guilty of in the past is focusing firmly on stamping. Now I know that is the name of the forum and we all enjoy it but there are several members that seem to do other styles of craft too, like parchment craft and so on. I really hope that this swap can be for anyone and any craft. If people want to do scrapbook style, digital, parchement or any other style then go for it. Hey I might even go nuts and do something with the pyrography on a board 6 x 4 sometime  Roll Eyes

We have a range of swaps that do include stamping and I thought it would be good to have one that people could explore other areas of their crafting with. Hey if we have any talented painters out there who would like to do their 6 x 4 as a traditional water colour thats great too. I found crafting outside my comfort zone dead scary but once I got into it, it was very exciting.

Stretch yourselves try something new and different, if you need an excuse to have a go at something but were scared to try...here is your excuse, motivation or permission what ever you need it to be to try something.

The size, theme and deadline are the only real rules to this one, go nuts, try new stuff but above all
have fun

Enjoy

Billie xx
