6 x 4 Challenge August 2008
Jul 26th, 2008 at 4:58pm

Welcome to the first of our Six By Four Challenges

This challenge is open to everyone. Just to get us started, I shall choose the first theme, which will be 'Floral'. Flowers need to feature somewhere on your design, your page size MUST be 6 x 4 inches.

I am posting this early in case anyone is going away and needs a little extra time. Sign up below to join in with this challenge.

Please read this http://www.stampingmadforum.co.uk/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1217083021/0 which will give you the details of the few rules and how to take part in this challenge.

Have fun

Billie xx

I'll be doing this too. I thought I'd put a nice easy theme to start with as most people have the odd flower stamp or two  Roll Eyes

Is it too early to show my first creation??  If so, please ignore this post!

If not, you'll find it here

Can we submit more than one each month, Billie?

Yes you have! It's great to see your masterpieces again Megan. I love your 6x4 piece.

I have also just finished my 6x4. All I need to do is scan it and upload it. Can't believe it, it's only the 2nd of the month and I'm done. I've always always always been too late for any online challenges before  Shocked

Here is my take on the subject: http://arcticstamper.wordpress.com/2008/08/04/6x4-challenge-floral/

I stamped the flowers and then I doodled  Smiley

WOW!  Santtu, that's fantastic!!  It's difficult to work out where the stamping ends and the doodling begins!  Well done Smiley

Hi Girls

Oh well done, both of you. It is good to see that you have embraced the 'Just go for it' concept and let your inner artist free. Looks like this challenge will be inspiring some interesting finished pieces  Cool great.

Lynn, I'm not one of those arty types  Roll Eyes I couldn't draw to save my life and I hate my handwriting and being a lefthander I always end up messing up what I just did by the side of my hand. I envy those that can doodle. But I just discovered that doodling is actually really easy and a lot of fun. My doodles are just dots, circles, stripes and the odd swiggle - so no talent required  Cool You should have a go - I'm sure you'd be surprised what you can do  Cool I'm hooked now  Roll Eyes

Or as Suzi Blu says 'Take the line for a walk' ( Whilst holding a pencil/pen etc)  Roll Eyes

Sorry I need food, ignore me if I'm talking rubbish.

Billie, the quote precedes Suzi Blu by almost a century!  It was Paul Klee who described his drawing technique as "taking a line for a walk" Smiley

OK, so I'm a pedantic art historian ... !!!  Roll Eyes

I have to confess when seeing what some people pay a fortune for as "art" I am with Phineas T. Barnum

I've added a couple more 6 x 4 experiments to my blog - one works better than the other, I think ... well, it would have done if an odd flower hadn't snook in there!!
